Your life is yours to make great. A new year can be the beginning of you living the way you've always wanted.
The beginning of finally achieving all the goals and desires you have. It can all start with making the right resolutions.
Most people speak out their New Years' resolutions on January 1st.
Quite frankly, that is too late and the reason why so many people bring up the same goals and resolutions year after year.
Sounds familiar? It's not your fault!
According to research the average person looking to lose weight and improve their health tries a whopping 160 diets before they give up.
Don't be a statistic, instead follow a few simple guidelines that will surely take you to your desired goal.
If 2021 wasn't great for you, let that motivate you, even more, to make 2022 your best year yet.
Living life to the fullest and living in the moment doesn't just have to be tired old cliches.
They can be real words that are true to your daily life.
Here are a few intentional choices you can consider striving to make a part of your routine this new year.
You can't change what happened in the past. You may not fully control what happens next year. However, bringing in more focus into your life does the trick.
Gary Keller, the author of “The One Thing” talks about bringing your life and your work into focus.
Focusing on one thing at a time without distractions for a designated amount of time gets the job done.
I couldn't believe it, but It has changed the way I do things.
2. Feeling Grateful
Practicing gratitude on a regular basis and all the things that make you happy is a proven way to invite more good things into your life that keeps you happy.

3. Start Meditating
Meditation is a good way to calm your mind from the “business” in your life.
Maybe 2022 is the year you eventually let go of the past, worry less about what’s ahead and be more present.
According to the Mayo Clinic: “Meditation is considered a type of mind-body complementary medicine.
Meditation can produce a deep state of relaxation and a tranquil mind.
During meditation, you focus your attention and eliminate the stream of jumbled thoughts that may be crowding your mind and causing stress.”
Even a few minutes of meditation can relax and calm your mind.
The best and the brightest minds in this world are journaling.
According to researchers from the University of Texas at Austin, regular journaling strengthens immune cells, while other research indicates that journaling decreases the symptoms of asthma and rheumatoid arthritis.
The International Association of Journaling describes Journaling as a powerful tool for personal growth, self-discovery improved health, and creative self-expression a fun and creative life-enhancing practice used by many successful people, including Oprah and Jack Canfield (author of Chicken Soup for the Soul books), to achieve success in life and work
5. Setting Goals
Setting goals gives you long-term vision and short-term motivation.
It focuses on your acquisition of knowledge and helps you to organize your time and your resources so that you can make the most of your life.
Goal setting is a powerful process for thinking about your ideal future, and for motivating yourself to turn your vision of this future into reality.
6. Start Exercising
We all know that exercising is good for you.
It boosts your mood, get’s your heart pumping, fights chronic diseases, lets you sleep better, and helps you lose weight. Just a 20-30 minute walk every day does the trick.
7. Start a Whole Food Plant-Based Lifestyle
If you haven’t done it already there is no better time than now.
A holistic plant-based lifestyle can help you lose all your unwanted pounds, improve your energy levels, and may even reverse chronic diseases.
There is no portion control or calorie restriction. It’s literally the best lifestyle to improve your health.
8. Letting go of people that don’t support you
If you hang out with 5 people that eat junk food every weekend, guess what?
You are the 6th person to eat junk food.
If you hang out with people who drink a lot of alcohol then you are the 6th person to drink.
You get the idea. You ARE the average of the 5 people you hang out with.
So if you are transitioning to a whole food plant-based lifestyle and your friends laugh at you or question you, then it’s time to move on.

9. Create good habits
The most successful people have adopted good habits. Here are a few you could consider adopting:
Getting up early in the morning and starting the day with:
Exercise for 15-20 minutes
Meditate for 10-20 minutes
Journal for 10-20 minutes
Just these 3 things can make a huge difference in your life. Robin Sharma, the author of the 5 AM Club has brought this morning routine to life.
I have adapted this and never looked back.
10. More habits to adopt
- Eating more veggies and less meat.
- Drink more water
- Read a book every month
- Get 8 hours of sleep
- Laugh more
- Be mindful of your thoughts. Worry less and spend more time thinking positively.
- Don't hold a grudge
- Declutter your home
11. Learn from your mistakes
It’s ok to make mistakes as long as we learn from them.
The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.
And a recent study from England is telling us that only 1 in 100 keeps their weight off.
Imagine you never have to diet again or worry about chronic diseases. Wouldn't that be great?

12. Embrace the journey
Our entire life is a journey. Like the seasons we have ups and downs.
After every harsh Winter comes a Spring and a Summer.
When you choose to move forward and embrace the journey you will be a much happier person.
New Year's resolutions surface naturally by the end of the year and evaporate for many during the first few months of the new year.
However, the few who take the time to write them down and create a plan, have a much better chance to achieve them.
But it gets even better, the ones who join a community of like-minded individuals have an even better chance to be successful.
The ones who take their resolutions to a coach or mentor have the greatest chances of succeeding.
According to recent data, only 9% of all people who have New Year's Resolutions are successful. Don't be a statistic instead plan and join a community that supports your health and wellness ambitions.
You don’t even have to wait for the new year to make a resolution. Bas Verplanken, a professor of social psychology at the University of Bath, says: "The success of a resolution which alters a habit can hinge on finding the right moment to make the change.
